Austin's 10th Birthday Family Party

Austin was very excited about having our family over to celebrate his birthday! With lots of cousins, it's always a fun time! Gan and Gramma, Kackey, Ronnie and crew all came to celebrate Austin's day and it made him feel very special! At Austin's request, we had mexican food...his favorite Burrito Casserole, beans, chips and cheese-dip...I threw in a mexican salad...that was not on his list. He loves those Toll-House break-and-bake cookies, but I thought he might enjoy some home-made Chocolate Fantasy cookies...how can you go wrong with a name like that? They are one of my favorites, so I made them...he said "they are alright". Yes, he is the pickiest eater in the family...he will eat you out of house and home if it's the foods he likes, but if it isn't a favorite, he will eat like a bird. We also had a ice cream sundae buffet with lots of yummy candy treats, chocolate sauce and of course marshmellows...those he loves! If you could live by carbs alone, life would be grand for Austin! Anyway, after dinner, they cranked up Rock Band...they were seriously jamming...it was quite entertaining and loud...they had a BLAST! I must say, they actually got better as the night went on. The girls made up a song and performed for Austin...he was so funny sitting there, being the center of attention. Then, Connor decided to join the girls as their lead guitar player...he stole the show! The girls were not to happy about sharing the spotlight. KK joined in on drums. We all laughed so hard...it was such fun!! Austin opened his gifts and was so excited...a new Lego from Kackey and Crew - he and Noah built it so fast! Gan and Gramma got him a cool RC helicopter that he had been asking for...he was thrilled!! That little yellow mini-copter has been chasing me around the kitchen...fly-bys over my head and landing on top of the highest cabinets...he is having fun with it!
