Christmas Eve Surprises

One year...several years ago...we thought it would be funny to do a joke gift for each of the kids...we picked one of their current favorite things...which turns out is usually food related... and bought it in bulk and wrapped it up. Little did we know that this would become one of their favorite holiday traditions! It starts long before Christmas..."I wonder what food I'll get"..."Mom, for my food gift, I hope it's XYZ". It's really fun! This year was no exception...Anna has become a fan of 3 Muskateer Bars...so we got them in every size available...giant to mini! Connor loves koolaide and powerade packets, so his box was full of tons of that stuff...surely a years supply! Austin loves Chocolate covered chewey bars (as he calls them) so he is stocked on those. Unfortunately, he did get a little disappointed when we included 6 boxes of what we thought were a new favorite english cookie that he got hooked on at Epcot this fall...we were so excited to find them locally...I actually considered buying in bulk from Amazon at a ridiculous price, but then found them at Target of all places. Only to realize that what I got was "dark chocolate" and not "milk chocolate"...he hates dark chocolate. But, we made up for it with a trip to the gas station for giant candy bars in all his favorites! Brandon loves Reese's and Cotton Candy...so we got every type of Reeses bar and cup we could find and then threw in a couple of tubs of the delicious sugary fluff. They will be eating this candy for a while...at least they better! The dark-chocolate coated cookies went back to Target...because I AM a fan of dark chocolate and I do NOT need cookies! I hope they will always enjoy this little tradition as much as they do today because it sure is fun for Jeffery and I to watch them! Happy memories!!
