School Christmas Parties

The holidays would not be complete without all of the school celebrations. I love planning and helping with all of their parties...priceless times to share with the kids for sure! This year, Anna's class theme was "Celebrations Around the World". We visited several different countries and made different crafts and food to learn about how other cultures celebrate. The kids had a wonderful time! Austin's class had a snowman theme...each team dressed someone up as a snowman and then they voted on the wackiest, most original, etc...it was so funny! Austin made cupcakes for his class...no help from me even...they were ornament cupcakes and he did a fantastic job! (Funny thing is, he loves to make them, but doesn't even eat cupcakes...maybe one without icing occasionally, but forget the frosting...and that is my favorite part!). Even the middle schoolers got to have a "get-together" this year...lots of snacks from chips to cookies and brownies...carbs and sugar - and tons of it - a pre-teen favorite! They also had a snowman decorating contest which was very funny and they played charades...I was laughing so hard! Brandon's class had pizza and socializing was the only activity the 13 year olds were interested in...sadly, he wasn't really thrilled about me coming to join in, so no photos of him this year...(showing up and bringing a camera would NOT be cool!) that's what happens when they turn into teenagers I suppose. Party day was also the coldest rainiest day we had had...it poured down rain ALL day long! Thankfully, I have the BEST husband in the world and he chauffered me around from party to party so I wouldn't get drenched and the party supplies weren't soggy! He even made a last minute run to Kroger for items other parents forgot to send in...I could not do all this without him and I wouldn't want to...we are a great team and I'm very thankful that we can do these things together. Now...let the Christmas vacation begin!! Schools out till January 5th!!!
