And no Christmas would be complete without leaving cookies for Santa. The kids each made a special "cookies for Santa" plate at those paint-your-own pottery places through the years...they use the same plates every year...I love their sweet art work...these plates are far more valuable to me than any piece of china I own! We are just steeped in family tradition...the kids still use their same stockings from their first Christmas...those are the things that remind me of these special moments together. Connections to the past that bring such joy in remembering. The kids loaded Santa's plates...poor Santa...he just can't eat all those goodies! I'm glad they still stick with this tradition...even if the older ones just do it to make me smile.
